I may be Lactose intollerant, but I’m having this one!

When a beer is brewed as a one-time, limited edition, only-available-at-the-brewpub beer, and later hits shelves across the country, you know it must be good. That’s the case with Stone’s newest beer – Stone Coffee Milk Stout – which was released this week.

Originally brewed as a limited edition beer at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Liberty Station, Stone’s Coffee Milk Stout was designed by stone brewer Brian Gallagher. Thanks to the great reception, though, the beer has been brought to shelves around the country.

Stone Coffee Milk Stout pouts a deep black with a thick, creamy tan head. Head retention is on par, and lacing is very good.

The aroma is dominated by roasted coffee and roasted malts, with notes of dark chocolate and a touch of bitter, earthy hops.

The taste follows the aroma. Roasted malts and dark coffee followed by a silky milk (from the milk sugar), finished with dark chocolate. Overall, it’s very well balanced, with plenty of flavor on top of a low 4.20% ABV
