Grains & Extracts

Name Amount Notes
Pale 2 Row 11 lb Generally, expect a good balance of malt and hops. Fruity esters and diacetyl can vary from none to moderate, and bitterness can range from lightly floral to pungent.
Pilsner 2 Row 9 lb 2-row spring barley, processed specifically to impart full body, golden-blond color, and complex maltiness.
Carafoam 1lb Contributes the same to your beer as CaraPils does - body, etc - but with a slightly sweet flavor. A few breweries are switching to this malt in place of CaraPils. Definitely lends a more interesting flavor.
Carapils 1 lb High performance dextrin malt. Carapils has a clear, glassy endosperm and contributes unfermentable sugars that add foam stability, and palate fullness to beer. Use up to 5% to improve body and significantly enhance head retention without adding flavor or color to your beer.
