Tasting notes

Motor-Oil dense black color, not fully carbonated, we will update in a week. Medium coffee nose, no trace of hop aroma. Very smooth iced coffee flavor, no alcohol buzz, will be a very nice drinkable session beer. Watch for an update soon. 02-04-2012 Med carbonated, Very dark in color, almost no aroma, lots of coffee on the palate. If you like coffee, you'll enjoy this low alcohol, very drinkable session beer.

  1. Peter says:

I didn’t see that you mentioned adding coffee in the secondary. Did you leave the coffee out? I have this NB kit but am worried that the coffee may be too overpowering and wonder what this recipe would taste like without it.

    • Glenn says:

Peter, thanks for catching the mistake. We did add the coffee as directed (4oz coarsely ground) to the secondary for 7 days. I tasted the beer last night, and the coffee flavor is correct for this lower gravity beer.
So, go ahead and use the coffee, enjoy the brew! Cheers,
      Glenn
