Grains & Extracts

Name Amount Notes
Wheat MAlt 11 oz The malt used for many wheat beers. Can be added to non wheat beers in small quantities to add to the head retention properties.
Chocolate Malt 12 oz Chocolatey brown and has a somewhat bitter chocolate taste. For use in brown ale, porters and stouts.
Carapils 17 oz Used for head retention and stability. Does not change the color or flavor.
Crystal 40L 2 lb Crystal 40L is used in some Pale Ales and most Amber Ales. It can also be used in darker beers, as well, when you are looking for the benefit of Crystal malt and some color contribution, but not the caramel notes that the higher colored Crystal malts have.
Pale 2 Row 10.5 lb AKA Klages. A grain that has 2 rows along the seed head. 2 row malt has more starch per unit of weight than 6 row.
